There are cases where you may want to send emails for user invites.

The easiest way is to send them via a link to a page using the external-ID reference.

If the page is password protected, the user will be redirected to the login/registration page.

After completion of registration, the CurrentUser is set, and it is possible to link the object referenced by the external ID to the logged-in user.
