In order to add an association you must state what two classes that participate. It is allowed to add a relation from and to the same class.

A relation now has two ends - you can state their names - give them describing names like "Teacher" and "Pupil" if you create an association from Person-class back to Person-class and want to describe that a person may be a teacher to other persons.
